Yep! That's what we got from the Gigabyte "Show off your rig" event.
I'll post more later on.
Good luck to all the participants! My rig is in the car ready to go. I hope nothing breaks!
Here's the Gigabyte Logo I made.
I'll post some pics when I can.
Bought some steel mesh from Sir Cham. Thanks!
I've done a lot of modding to the case but I'll post pictures later on. As of now, I can show you what I did to bend some mesh to the shape of the blue plastic thingie the Aurora has in front. I already did this with the old mesh but it was too thin and didn't offer any strength.
I marked out an estimated size.
Clamped then cut.
Found a 90 degree angle and pushed really hard. This thing is tough!
Chose a suitable surface for the rounded part.
Looks pretty close.
After some more cutting and filing, I got it to fit snug. More on that later.
I finished painting my case. I used DuPont and Anzahl Automotive products. Too bad I didn't have a camera. Blame the wife. Anyway, I have some pictures of the outcome that I'll be posting later on. I'm not really happy with how it turned out because it's been raining consistently here in Manila so it's a bit hazy. I'll have to redo the paintjob sometime after the roadshow since I'm running short on time as it is.
It's all good though. At least this is my own work as opposed to modded systems that were done by others. It's a purist thing of sort.
In the meantime, here are some new pictures.
U-Channel mouldings installed on the cable management holes to keep wires from getting cut and to keep things tidy-looking too.
Some Turtle Wax will be used later on.
Some teasers.
As you can see in this picture, the finish is a bit hazy. Bummer!
That's it for now. More later!
I got some painting done but unfortunately I had no camera. I'll take some pictures later on. I got my wire sleeves so I'll start sleeving my extension cables.
Was able to remove the 8-pin wires from the connector. Not easy!!!
Will start removing the 24-pin wires now!
Done! My hands are hurting so I'll do the soldering and sleeving later in the day.
SLEEVES!
Too much hair?
An old gift! It's one of those ancient Swiftech HSFs with a TEC built-in.
Corsair Dominator memory cooler.
Old Thermaltake chipset cooler! I found a couple of them! Hmm.
Really long SATA cable from Camshow.
My sanding sponge. Great for paint work.
