Gigabyte 3D Aurora Project - Update 4

Crappy weather today so I couldn't get any painting done. I ended up starting my psu wire extensions. I'll be making some 8 and 24-pin ones. Reason being my Gigabyte Odin's wires are too short for my needs.

I found an old 20-pin extension cable.

My weapon of choice!

I cut out the part that matches the holes on the 8-pin CPU connector.

And that's what I ended up with.

Some tidying up of the cut edge and it should be done. Next!

This came with an HEC Winpower 550AB I bought previously. It's a GPS12V adapter according to the manual. Well, not for long anyway! It'll become an 8-pin and 24-pin extension cable.

Cutting and splicing!

They're now ready to be soldered to some longer wires.

DSC05309

I'll have to cut those wires from this old broken PSU.

Let's do some soldering!

My Soldering Gun.

DSC05316

My soldering skills at work! Well, there isn't a lot of that.

DSC05317

Long way to go!

DSC05319

All done soldering on one side. I won't be able to finish this till I get some sleeves. More later!

DSC05315

I'll be using some heat-shrink wraps to hide the different wire colors. Then I'll put some sleeving once I pick my order up from Camshow.

DSC05326

No! I'm not doing drugs! HEAT SHRINK!

Tada! Finished! Sleeves next.

Test fit. All good!
